Jon Champion feels Arsenal and Alexis is a natural parting of the way…
Football commentator Jon Champion revealed that word around the Arsenal camp is that Alexis Sanchez is a nightmare to control behind the scenes and his exit may be welcome.
Alexis is out of contract in 12 months and has so far been unwilling to extend his deal despite reports of multiple offers being made to his representatives.
Arsene Wenger has been unwavering in his mind that Alexis will not be sold this summer, regardless of what happens with his contract negotiations.
However, it’s a statement the boss has made before only to renegeĀ on it in a matter of weeks, which had led to endless speculation regarding Alexis this season.
While many fans are unified in their calls to keep Alexis, Jon Champion claimed that Arsenal legend Lee Dixon revealed to him that figures at London Colney are growing tiresome of the Chilean’s antics.
Alexis was surprisingly dropped for our crucial trip to Liverpool back in March with rumours rife about a training ground bust-up with fellow teammates, an incident which hasn’t gone away.
“I was with Lee Dixon last week, he said the people he still knows say that he’s (Alexis) a difficult character in the dressing room,” Jon told ESPN FC.
“That he’s been increasing the morose over the last season, and that he’s become quite difficult to control – not a good influence on the training pitch either.”
“I think it’s a natural parting of the ways bearing in mind the season that Arsenal just had.”
