Arsenal legend Kevin Campbell was a guest pundit on ITV 4’s coverage of our emphatic 8-0 victory over Norwegian side Viking FK, and our former striker is desperate to see Arsene Wenger get the chequebook out.

A number of our players grabbed seven second-half goals to give the scoreline a spectacular look, but Campbell warned that Arsene Wenger must not get carried away by what he’s seen this evening.

“I still think he needs to strengthen because that, today, wasn’t the true reflection of what’s to come,” Campbell said on ITV 4.

While it may seem unbelievable that tonight’s result will have any bearing on our summer business, we have seen Wenger cancel plans to strengthen before due to what he’s seen in pre-season.

Nevertheless, Sunday’s final fixture against Manchester City will provide the ultimate clarification as to our preparation ahead of our Premier League kick-off at home to Liverpool.
