Jeremy Corbyn hoping for double delight at Arsenal…
Labour leader and Prime Minister candidate Jeremy Corbyn has responded to worries that his high taxation policy will hurt the Premier League, and more importantly, Arsenal Football Club.
Corbyn has made it clear that he aims to target the wealthiest sectors and individuals in society in order to fund his policies for the unfortunate should he win the general election next month.
The Premier League is one of man corporations in the Islington man’s sights, and he was asked if this would have a knock-on effect on his beloved Arsenal.
Asked if his policies could force us to lose Alexis Sanchez, Corbyn replied: “Listen, Arsenal are going to win the cup.
“Arsenal are going to keep Alexis… and Arsenal are a great club and I love supporting them.”
Corbyn has been likened to Wenger a fair bit in recent months as both face calls to step down by those closest to them due to uncertainties surrounding their leadership.
However, it seems the two Islington residents are here to stay for the foreseeable future, though they face potentially career-defining moments over the next three weeks.
