Martin Keown thinks Arsenal’s demise is rather worrying…
Arsenal legend Martin Keown voiced his concern at our demise in recent years and labelled us a “cup team” as we languish outside the Champions League slots.
Ahead of our trip to the London Stadium to face West Ham, we’re desperately in need of a return to winning ways days after a poor showing at Southampton.
We’re currently in 6th place, two points behind fourth-placed Burnley, and we can’t seem to put a credible run together in the league.
Our away form continues to deteriorate, and nothing other than taking all three points against David Moyes’ side will represent a step in the right direction.
For Keown though, this Arsenal side is almost unrecognisable.
“When you look at City, they’re just running away with it, and Arsenal they’re in touch with everybody else,” he said on BT Sport.
“They’ve got to win tonight, their away record has been shocking.
“To have lost four games on the road is really not good enough, just two wins. There’s no consistency, they’ve become a cup team.”
It’s very difficult to know what we’re going to get from the team this season, with the north London derby the only notable win in a season riddled with mediocrity.
We’re somehow accused of being flat track bullies, but it seems even the ‘lesser’ Premier League teams have figured us out.
