Martin Keown on Alexis…

Martin Keown made a remarkable statement on Match of the Day after watching Arsenal tear Chelsea to shreds; claiming that Alexis Sanchez was the best forward at Arsenal since Thierry Henry.

The Chilean once again started through the middle, a position which he’s probably cemented for the rest of the campaign.

Our opening goal sums up why Alexis is a unique talent, as he ate up the ground on a casual Gary Cahill to pinch the ball off him and calmly chip the ball over Thibaut Courtois.

Alexis has now scored 47 goals in 100 games for Arsenal. Thierry Henry’s record? 100 games, 48 goals.

“This fella is the icing on the cake,” Keown said on Match of the Day.

“I haven’t seen anybody this quality for years. (Thierry) Henry, really, the last time I’ve seen anyone with this sort of pace, this sort of quality.”
