Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard set to extend his contract…

Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard is set to sign a new long-term contract as the club looks to reward his sensational form over the past 18 months, ArseblogNews reports.

Odegaard’s current contract expires in 2025, with the club holding an option to extend the deal for a further year. However, with the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and William Saliba all getting bumper new deals, the Gunners captain is next.

As has been the policy in recent years, new deals are given to players to reflect their status in the squad as opposed to addressing expiring deals.

Aaron Ramsdale, Gabriel and Martinelli all received new contracts with years left on their existing agreements as the club looked to reward their meteoric rise.

Odegaard arrived in 2021 from Real Madrid on a permanent deal months after joining us on a short-term loan the season prior and has grown into a wonderful player during his time in north London.

The Norwegian burst into the scene as a teenager and with the eyes of the footballing world on him, he didn’t follow the trajectory onlookers were predicting.

A sustained period of instability at Real Madrid certainly didn’t help matters and Odegaard has finally found what he’s always been looking for – a home.

He’s adored by Mikel Arteta, respected by his teammates and lauded by the Gunners faithful. Committing his future here seems like a sensible decision.

According to the report above, an announcement on his new deal will be with us within a week…
