Mathieu Debuchy’s Arsenal Exit Could Still Be Revived – Report

Mathieu Debuchy could still leave…

Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy could still join French club Nice this summer despite a move breaking down earlier this window due to wage demands, Sky Sports News report.

Debuchy has been surplus to requirements at Arsenal for a number of years, but we haven’t been able to get him off the books due to his refusal to drop his wage demands in a bid to secure regular football elsewhere.

In the meantime, the former Newcastle United man has taken every opportunity to slam Arsene Wenger in public for how he’s supposedly been treated.

Hector Bellerin is our first-choice right-back, and Debuchy can’t seem to sustain his fitness in order to have a real go at trying to reclaim that position.

According to the report, Arsenal and Nice have already agreed a fee and that agreement is still intact, with a move now dependent on Debuchy reaching personal terms with the Ligue 1 side.

Sky Sports News also reports that Lucas Perez, Kieran Gibbs and Carl Jenkinson are likely to follow the 32-year-old out of the door.

All four were left out of the team’s pre-season schedule, which is usually is a result of a pending transfer and keeping the players from picking up unnecessary injuries.

It seems like the club is unable to add new players to the squad without exercising a certain clear out before making any more additions.
