Mesut Ozil hasn’t travelled with the squad to Liverpool…
Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is hasn’t travelled with the squad for the trip to Anfield ahead of our clash against Liverpool on Saturday with reports claiming that German is troubled by a knee problem.
Rumours swirled rather quickly on Friday night after Ozil wasn’t seen coming off the team bus at the club’s hotel and many assumed Unai Emery left him out again.
The Spaniard left the 30-year-old out of the squad that crashed out of the Carabao Cup against Spurs 10 days ago and put it down to ‘tactical reasons’.
However, according to BBC Sport’s reliable reporter David Ornstein, Ozil complained of a knee problem in training earlier on Friday and was left out of the squad.
This was recorded at 6pm but we now know Mesut Ozil is out of Arsenal’s game at Liverpool tomorrow. He trained with the squad today but complained of pain in his knee and was withdrawn from the travelling party #AFC #LFC https://t.co/io95HjjIyl

While that explanation may be true, it will do very little to quell the mounting rumours surrounding the German’s Arsenal future are a string of flashpoints.
This comes days after Ozil was hooked off at half-time at Brighton despite the scores being level, with Emery once again claiming that it was a “tactical decision”.
It seems there’s no tactical solution with Ozil involved when it comes to Emery’s philosophy and that usually leads to one outcome.
Given his humongous wage packet and the fact that he’s settled in London, shipping Ozil out in January will be difficult as only a few clubs can match his wage demands.
This soap opera looks like it has a few more episodes yet.
