Mesut Ozil Looking To Outlast Unai Emery And Will Not Be Forced Out – Report

The PR war between Mesut Ozil and Unai Emery continues with no end in sight…

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil looks set to see his contract out at the club and is of the belief that Unai Emery may not be the Gunners head coach next season, thus refusing to allow the Spaniard to force him out, Bleacher Report reports.

Ozil was once again left out of a matchday squad for our Europa League clash against Vitoria SC at the Emirates Stadium with many coming to the realisation that Emery may never pick him again.

After the match, the former Valencia coach refused to discuss the topic of Ozil and instead wanted to focus on the narrow win we secured on Thursday night.

The night was looking rather shaky for Emery as Vitoria lead for much of the match, only for record-signing Nicolas Pepe to enter the fray and produce two stunning free-kicks to hand us the three points.

It meant the post-match proceedings were less hostile for Emery than could’ve been the case, although the Ozil situation was one that needed addressing.

“Today is not the day to┬áspeak about that,” Emery said when asked about the 31-year-old.

Now, a report from Bleacher Report claims that despite harbouring feelings that the club is trying to force him out, Ozil will withstand that internal pressure and see things out.

It is claimed that the German international isn’t yet convinced that Emery will be the Arsenal manager next term with the head coach currently under intense pressure.

After losing yet another away game, doubts remain regarding Emery’s credentials to clinch a top-four this season after a record summer-spending spree.

Raul Sanllehi has already stated that the club have expressed to Emery that a top-four finish is a minimum that’s expected of him this season.

Given our reliance on Champions League revenue, the club could be forced into a decision should our form continue to deteriorate.
