Arteta impressed with his players’ mentality…

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was impressed with his team’s attitude in the aftermath of our goalless draw at Manchester City with the boys feeling that they could’ve got all three points, the Spaniard told Arsenal.com.

Arteta’s troops produced a stellar defensive performance at the Etihad Stadium, preventing the home side from scoring on their own patch for the first time since 2021.

While the result meant we relinquished top spot in the Premier League by a two points, our league momentum this calendar year continues with our most difficult assignment behind us.

For the boss, he was impressed by the sombre mood in the dressing room after the game, stating that the players were disappointed to no leave Manchester with all three points.

Arteta also attempted to quickly shift focus to Wednesday’s clash against Luton was we look to get back to winning ways and starting another impressive run.

“That’s the feeling I get every day in the dressing room,” the 42-year-old said when asked if they players weren’t pleased with the result.

“That’s unbelievable. You know, we have prevented this team for the first time in three years to score a goal at home. And that tells you the difficulty of it. But they want more. And as individuals, we could have done more. As a team, we could have done more. And that’s good to see.

“We are making the steps, but let’s maintain all the good things we are doing and let’s keep improving.”

The focus now turns to our next Premier League assignment as relegation-threatened Luton Town visit the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

Given the form of the three title-challengers, you cannot afford any slip-ups and Arteta will be wanting a swift response from his team and a turn to our pre-Man City form.

“Now it’s Luton, this has gone now, it’s Luton, a really tough opponent. You know, what they’re doing against the top sides. And we need our people again on Wednesday night to create an unbelievable atmosphere and go again and try to win the game.”
