Mikel Arteta Set To Reach Historic Milestone Against Forest

Mikel Arteta aims to add to chart-topping managerial stats…

Mikel Arteta is set to take charge of his 250th game as Arsenal boss when we host Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon as he looks to add to his impressive win percentage as Gunners boss.

Arteta already holds the most wins of any Arsenal manager to reach that milestone, 10 more than the next best in Arsene Wenger with an equally impressive win percentage.

The Spaniard tops the win percentage column of managers who’ve taken charge of over 50 games, boasting a record of 58.6% during his tenure.

The former Gunners skipper is approaching five years as manager next month and while his impressive transformation of the club is evident, everyone is aware that it must end in major silverware.

After a difficult start, it almost feels like our season begins now with the end of the international breaks for the foreseeable future and the return of some key players.

Martin Odegaard made his first league appearance since August in our 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, while defenders Riccardo Calafiori and Takehiro Tomiyasu are nearing returns.

Despite the result, our performance at Stamford Bridge is the most cohesive the team has looked in almost all areas of the pitch in what was a difficult assignment.

Having already faced all of last season’s top seven teams – with five of those games being away from home – we now have a very favourable fixture list to put a substantial run of wins together.

This team has proven to be capable of doing that under Arteta and it’s entirely feasible that a run of eight wins before the end of the year will have the table looking completely different.

It all starts at 3 pm at the Emirates Stadium against an impressive Forest side as we look to end a run of four league games without a win.
