Olympic champion Mo Farah is fully behind Arsenal’s chase for Jamie Vardy and believes that we need a clinical striker like him who’s capable of putting chances away ruthlessly.
Arsenal have triggered Vardy’s release clause according to BBC Sport, though the Leicester City striker is yet to decide on the move given his emotional attachment to the club.
Vardy netted 24 times in the Premier League last season as he announced his rise from the lower leagues to the highest level of English football.
Despite being 29-years-old, Vardy still has bags of energy and raw pace which Arsene Wenger clearly admires as the boss looks to remedy our profligacy in front of goal last season.
Given that we possess the best creative player in Europe in Mesut Ozil, there is no excuse as to why one of our strikers can’t tally 20+ league goals in a single campaign.
