Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal believes that Lucas Perez will be a massive help to the squad this season after his £17m move from Deportivo last week.

The arrival of Lucas Perez came out of nowhere and his qualities are unknown in England following his late bloom in Spain last season.

Lucas bagged 17 goals and assisted a further 11 goals, despite playing in a struggling Deportivo side.

“He is quick, left-footed, and he finds spaces really easily,” Monreal told Arsenal Player.

“He’s going to help us a lot.”

Given that he’s been training with the squad for the past 10 days, it will be interesting to see if Arsene Wenger deems him ready enough to start against Southampton on Saturday.
