Miami Dolphins star Jay Ajayi was visibly emotional after meeting his idol Thierry Henry at Wembley ahead of the clash against the New Orleans Saints.
Ajayi, although growing up in the States, was born in London and spent his early years, as many do, dreaming of being a professional football player in the Premier League.
Speaking ahead of the new campaign during the summer, Ajayi spoke on our FA Cup win against Chelsea and predicting us to reclaim the Premier League title.
Also, when discussing his childhood in England, the running back was open about what Thierry Henry meant to him growing up.
“Growing up I played soccer, and I looked up to guys like Thierry Henry; he’s probably one of my biggest role models, and he really got me into playing sports,” Ajayi said in 2015 (via GiveMeSport).
“To see how great he was for Arsenal, and of course the Invincibles team – it was a special time to be able to watch Arsenal win the league and everything else.”
The moment Ajayi was waiting for came this week as Henry visited him at Wembley, a moment which was too much for his emotions to handle.
As an honorary Londoner, playing a game at Wembley with your icon watching cannot be topped.
