“Not One Of Them Were Penalties” – Wenger Bemoans Decisions Against Us At Home

By The Editor
on 11th December 2016

Arsene Wenger isn’t happy with the decisions that have been going against us in recent weeks which came to a head after Stoke City were offered a soft penalty at the Emirates Stadium.

Joe Allen went down after coming into contact with Granit Xhaka’s elbow, and Lee Mason instantly pointed to the spot to everyone’s surprise.

That was the third game in succession that we’ve had a penalty given against us at home, and Wenger fumed after the game and insisted that they were all incorrect decisions.

Bournemouth and Spurs were also awarded spot-kicks, meaning that only Hull City have conceded more penalties in the Premier League than us.

It seems as though some referees want to prove that they’re brave enough to give decisions against the ‘big sides’, and the Emirates is probably where they feel the most comfortable doing so.

The boss has called out a few referees over the past few weeks and is definitely choosing his words carefully to escape any punishment.
