Ola Aina gives Saka his flowers…

Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina believes Bukayo Saka is the best player in the Premier League and hailed the 23-year-old’s consistency.

Aina, who joined Forest in 2023, had to mark Saka in both of our games against the former European Champions last season after being asked to cover at left-back.

The former Chelsea academy star tried his best to contain Saka, but the Gunners star scored in both fixtures – including a sensational effort on the opening day of the season.

Saka is set for a spell on the sidelines after scans showed that the winger had torn his hamstring during our 5-1 thrashing of Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The England star’s importance to our team will be laid bare for all to see in the coming weeks as we attempt to claw back a six-point deficit to league-leaders Liverpool.

“Just off of…he just does it every game, Saka,” Aina said when asked who he felt was the best player in the league on an episode of Filthy Fellas.

“Let’s be honest here, Saka is scoring…he’s just doing a mad ting!”

The disparity between how fellow professionals discuss Saka compared to the mainstream media is quite stark. Just think back to the summer when every television pundit in Britain was trying to find a way to get Saka out of the England team.

Aina also admitted that Arsenal were by far the toughest team Forest had played against this season after our dominant 3-0 win against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side last month.

Saka was instrumental on that occasion too, opening the scoring with a sensational solo goal.
