Oleksandr Zinchenko hasn’t been seen training with the team in Dubai…

Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko has allayed fears over another injury after he wasn’t spotted training with the squad in Dubai during their warm weather camp.

Zinchenko hasn’t featured in any of the two friendlies played during the World Cup break either, despite previously returning to training last month.

The former Manchester City star has already missed a number of games this season due to injuries, mainly because of a problematic calf problem.

Unfortunately, the Ukrainian skipper does have a history of picking up these niggling injuries which can become infuriating for both player and club.

The 25-year-old has become an integral member of Arteta’s squad given his unique qualities, with Zinchenko often operating as an extra midfielder when in possession.

“You know, I have a little muscle tightness, but I’m nearly there, so don’t worry about this,” Zinchenko said.

“Obviously I’m also working hard to get my fitness back and to be with the team as quickly as I can.

“It’s the worst feeling to be fair … for every footballer to be out of the team. And yeah, in the last couple of months, I was struggling a lot but I hope everything is in the past already.

“And now, I’m fully focused and so excited for the rest of the season.”

Keeping Zinchenko fit, as unrealistic as that may be, is one of the most important factors determining how far we can keep our league form going.

His presence allows to dominate games which invariably prevents the opposition from creating chances.

Hopefully, Zinchenko can feature in one of our upcoming friendlies ahead of our return to Premier League action on Boxing Day.
