Arsenal legend Paul Merson has reignited an age-old debate after he claimed that Alexis Sanchez is the only Gunners player who could currently walk into Spurs’ team.

As we prepare to face Hull City this weekend, the pressure is mounting around the club after we suffered back-to-back defeats to Watford and Chelsea, effectively ruling us out of the title race.

Merson is one to often get carried away when discussing Arsenal during times of turbulence and his latest comments are just further evidence of that trait in him.

Alexis is currently the leading goalscorer in the Premier League and so it would be expected for Merson to name him as the only player who’d make it into Spurs’ XI, but it’s a bit of an exaggeration.

The likes of Hector Bellerin, Laurent Koscielny, Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil could easily walk into their team, but it’s not fashionable to say that at this moment in time.
