Paul Merson: I Believe Arsene Wenger On Contract Story Dispute

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson believes that we should believe Arsene Wenger’s denial of rumours which surfaced on Friday which claimed that the boss has been offered a new two-year deal.

Wenger, in his pre-match press conference ahead of our final game against Aston Villa, completely denied such stories and referred to them as an “invention”.

Merson told SkySportsNewsHQ that Wenger is an “honest” man and wonders why the club briefed the press about a story which will only increase the pressure on the Frenchman.
