Pep Guardiola backs Wenger with a fierce anti-media tirade…

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola launched a scathing attack on the media for their coverage of Arsene Wenger.

The boss is going through the toughest period in his career culminating in a humiliating loss in the Champions League to Bayern Munich.

Following on from back-to-back Premier League defeats which have left us practically out of the title race, we look set to crash out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage for the seventh consecutive season.

With Wenger’s contract set to expire in June, it’s rather natural that his future dominates the column inches.

Arsenal and Wenger have refused to give any clarity as to what will take place, which has only intensified the pressure on the boss and the team.

“What I’ve heard in the last 10 days, about how people, ex-players, journalists treat Arsene Wenger is unacceptable,” the Spaniard said after Man City’s goalless draw against Huddersfield.

“Our job, in that moment, doesn’t have any respect for any position, so it is disrespectful, what happened.”

Guardiola is big with respect, and he’s clearly frightened at how a legend such as Wenger is being treated and what may lie in wait for him.
