Petr Cech: Finishing The Season With Just The Community Shield Is Disappointing

Arsenal star Petr Cech bemoaned the number of long-term injuries we suffered this season and the 33-year-old believes that it certainly hindered our chances of winning the title.

Cech accepts that while other clubs certainly suffered more injuries, ours kept some key players on the sidelines for  a number of months.

Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were all referenced by Cech and the former Chelsea man believes that we couldn’t realistically compensate for their absence.

“Unfortunately for us, every time we had an injured player it was a long-term injury,” Cech told Arsenal Player.

“You can’t compensate at certain times.”

Cech will undoubtedly be feeling the regret more than most, given that he’s lifted this trophy on four previous occasions.
