Petr Cech: I’d Retire If I Didn’t Believe I Could Win With Arsenal

Petr Cech makes an honest statement about his belief in the team….

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech stated that he would’ve long been retired had he not believed he can reclaim the Premier League title with this squad.

Cech left Chelsea in search of first-team football in 2015, and he made the shock move across London to Arsenal and made it clear he still has the hunger to win.

The 35-year-old has won every club trophy available to him in the game, and he’s evidently attempting to prove that the hunger is still burning within him.

Cech has been in questionable form these past few seasons, but he remains adamant that this squad can achieve greatness if we can cut out performances like we saw at Liverpool.

“Quite simply unacceptable for the team we have,” Cech said after the 4-0 thrashing.

“Ok, you can lose 4-0 if you are unlucky, it can happen. But not like today. It was unacceptable.

“We were not fighting, not running enough. We were not winning any individual battles and, as a team, we completely failed to respond to their way of playing.

“We only have ourselves to blame.”

On our ambitions to end a 13-year drought to win the league, Cech said: “It is very early in the season and with two defeats you can still win the League.

“If I didn’t believe that we could do that I would probably retire, but I believe that this team has everything to compete and to be able to win the title.”
