Petr Cech was involved in an interesting exchange with the younger members of squad away with the team in China following our win on penalties against Bayern Munich.
The players were presented with the International Champions Cup following the win, and as skipper, Cech was tasked with lifting the trophy.
However, Cech went for a more subdued look and despite calls from the likes of Reiss Nelson and Cohen Bramall to raise the cup aloft.
Not only did Cech deny their wishes, he gave them a quick piece of advice which sums up why he’s achieved what he has in his career.
“Let’s lift the big one at the end of the season.”
Cech has won five Premier League as well as five FA Cups, while he’s also claimed the ultimate prize in 2012 – the Champions League.
Entering his third campaign as an Arsenal player, Cech still has a lot of doubters to prove wrong after an indifferent season.
However, the 35-year-old has looked sharp in pre-season and will hopefully take that into the new season.
