Ray Parlour revealed to Arsenal player that the two fixtures against Manchester United were the ones he and his teammates looked out for when the fixtures were released in June.
Parlour states that the Arsenal generation from a decade ago were competing with Man United for all the domestic trophies and therefore marked the clashes down in their diaries.
The man dubbed as the ‘Romford Pele’ did accept that given the tightness of the league, players may differ in the game which catches their attention when the fixture are released.
However, for Parlour, only one team was in his line of vision during his playing days.
While many point to the north London derby, it’s time we focused on the league’s best clubs as our main rivals in order to remedy our mentality when entering a campaign.
