Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil is not seeking a move away in January and is determined to win back the trust of head coach Unai Emery, ESPN‘s Raphael Honistein reports.

Following on from his update on Sunday in which the German football reporter claimed that, according to his sources, Emery hasn’t got a personal problem with Ozil and that his decisions were purely tactical, it seems Ozil is on the same page.

Ozil wasn’t with the squad which travelled to Anfield on Sunday, though the club cited a knee injury as the reason behind his absence.

However, given that he was hooked off at half-time against Brighton coupled with how comfortable Emery is with leaving the German out of the squad, he may have been left out irrespective of that injury.

According to the report, Ozil’s knee injury is genuine and he picked it up at Brighton, though Emery stated the reason for his withdrawal at the break was down to ‘tactical decisions’.

Despite the reports linking the 30-year-old with a January move away on loan to offload some of his hefty wages, Ozil will stay and fight for his place.

Upon Emery’s arrival, the Spaniard assured the fans that the intensity levels of the team will be raised and will remain high – which immediately spelt danger for Ozil.

With the window opening on Tuesday, it won’t take long before we’re privy to the club’s plans in terms of incomings and outgoings.
