Rob Holding getting comfortable with winning at Wembley…

Rob Holding has shown that the maturity he displays transcends the football pitch after being rather critical of his own performance against Chelsea in the Community Shield.

Holding was handed his first 90 minutes of pre-season since rejoining the group after his excursions with the England U21 side in the summer.

The 21-year-old produced an outstanding display against Chelsea in the FA Cup final and has since become a cult hero among fans, with many calling for the former Bolton man to start on a weekly basis.

In this newly formed 3-4-3 system, the right centre-back position is certainly up for grabs and Holding deserves that role ahead of Shkodran Mustafi on current form.

However, Holding feels there’s room for improvement in his own display.

“It was my first 90 minutes since getting back, that was important for me. There were a few mistakes I wasn`t happy about, but I’ll get them ironed out over the next week, ready for the Leicester game on Friday,” the defender told Arsenal Player

“I’m getting quite comfortable playing here at Wembley – the more you play the more you get used to the atmosphere and stuff.”

It’s a big season for Holding next terms as he looks to establish himself as an automatic starter in the team amidst serious competition for places.
