Arsenal legend Robert Pires rolled back the years at this year’s Star Sixes tournament in Glasgow as the Frenchman aimed to win the competition for the second year in succession.

Pires captained France to victory when the competition of legends was staged in London last year, and the former Gunners winger led the ‘Rest of the World’ team this time around.

In their first game against Northern Ireland, Pires proved why he was considered one of the best in his position during his prime as he treated his fellow former colleagues like schoolkids.

Pires is still in shape given that he often uses the facilities at London Colney, though his days of joining in first-team training are over since the departure of Arsene Wenger.

Over the past few years, the World Cup winner would be used as an extra man in a training match to prepare for games, but it seems it’s strictly business for Emery.
