Shaka Hislop makes a bizarre assessment on Isco to Arsenal rumours…
Shaka Hislop got rather emotive on the ESPN analysis desk after being asked about the possibility of Real Madrid’s Isco joining Arsenal this summer.
In a section of the show in which questions are taken from viewers on social media, the panel was asked about whether Arsenal should target Isco as a long-term replacement for Santi Cazorla.
It’s a theory discussed on a few occasions internally by a number of Arsenal fans, especially after the success of Cazorla switching to a more deeper role to exercise his technical superiority.
Isco and Cazorla shared a dressing room at Malaga before the latter departed for north London, and the Real Madrid star has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place at the Bernabeu.
However, the thought of Isco joining us seemed to strike a nerve with Hislop, who reacted rather bizarrely to the question.
“Isco, for me, very soon will be a key ingredient at Real Madrid,” the former Portsmouth goalkeeper said on ESPN FC.
“If he walks away from that and goes to Arsenal, I will go to north London myself and slap Isco senseless.”
Chill out, mate.
Isco won’t be joining Arsenal anytime soon and the question posed to the Trinidadian was only a legitimate theory a viewer was hoping would be discussed in a serious manner.
That was, sadly, too much to ask.
