Sir Alex Ferguson Tells Arsenal Fans To Lay Off Arsene Wenger

Sir Alex Ferguson backs Arsene Wenger…

Manchester United icon Sir Alex Ferguson has warned Arsenal fans about hounding Arsene Wenger out of the club and reminded them that they’ve lost sight of his achievements for us.

Sir Alex, who transformed into an ally of Wenger during his final years as Man United boss, feels like Wenger is the last of his kind and he’s not impressed with the Arsenal fans who’re calling for his head.

Wenger has gone 13 years without winning the league, finishing in the top two just once since 2005.

Ferguson stated that longevity does bring success, yet sacking managers with little stability hasn’t worked for other clubs.

“At the moment, of course, with the ridiculous situation of the pressure Arsene is under, I just wonder if they realise the job he’s done,” the 13-time Premier League winner told Sky Sports.

“It’s quite easy to say ‘Get rid of him’, but who do you get? Who do you get in to keep that club the way they are for the next 20 years?

“There’s no evidence that sacking a manager brings success.”

Ferguson was a great manager, but that final statement can be easily dismantled. Chelsea and Real Madrid are two of the most ruthless clubs in terms of their treatment of managers, yet their trophy cabinet has been consistently filled in recent years.

The key difference between Wenger and Ferguson is clear, the latter was winning titles, while our manager sees finishing fourth as the ultimate goal.

Had Ferguson faced 13 barren years without winning the league, I’m not sure he’d want to continue.

One thing I’ve learned from Sir Alex, if he’s praising you as a fellow manager, it’s very rarely a good thing.
