Sky Sports’ Geoff Shreeves: Arsenal Board Undecided On Whether Wenger Can Lead Revolution

Geoff Shreeves feels Arsenal board still undecided on Wenger…

Sky Sports reporter Geoff Shreeves claimed that, according to his sources, the Arsenal board are pondering whether or not Arsene Wenger is the right man to lead a revolution which is set to take place this summer.

After Ivan Gazidis met fans at a gathering at Highbury House, Sky Sports believe that the Arsenal hierarchy accepts that the club has “stagnated”, and that monumental changes are required.

Whether or not those changes include replacing Arsene Wenger remains to be seen, and that seems the reason behind the delay given that the boss has already stated his desire to stay on.

“They are aware that things have stagnated somewhat,” Geoff said on Sky Sports ahead of kick-off against Manchester City.

“They’re looking at a real overhaul this summer, potentially changing many of the structures – Arsene Wenger himself – put into place.

“If they think things really have drifted, they may well feel that they’ve got to start much deeper than they perhaps expected.”

If the club are stressing that the decision will be “mutual” while Wenger has publically stated that he’d like to stay, then the only way the boss departs this summer is if the board unanimously decide that he must be relieved of his duties.

The situation may well favour them given that Wenger is out of contract, but it will certainly shock the masses if they do make a call with such lasting consequences.

Check out the video above as Shreeves updates us on Wenger’s future, while former Gunners Thierry Henry and Niall Quin also chime in on the hot topic of world football.
