Guillem Balague says an agreement has now been reached between Arsenal and Barcelona regarding Denis Suarez…
Spanish Football Expert Guillem Balague is reporting that an agreement has been reached between Arsenal and Barcelona regarding a deal for Denis Saurez for an initial loan spell.

According to Balague, we’ve agreed to pay a €2million-3m loan fee for the Spaniard for the next six months with an obligation to buy in the summer for over €20m.
It’s basically a delayed, permanent transfer which indicates that Unai Emery is a big fan of Suarez, a player who he’s managed before during his time in Sevilla.
Also, it’s rather odd for the club to maintain that we don’t have €20m for a transfer in January, but we’ll have more than enough to make signings in June.
Having said that, the renewed deal sponsorship with Fly Emirates as well as the club-record manufacturing deal with adidas kick in this summer which will enhance the coffers – with both deals rumoured to be worth a combined £100m-per-year.
Fans will call for the club to speculate before they accumulate but we’ve never been that type of club and one hopes the purse strings will be loosened in the summer.
In terms of Suarez, signing him on a permanent deal is rather underwhelming given his ambiguous positioning. The former Manchester City man played as a winger during his loan spells at Sevilla and Villarreal, though his attributes aren’t that of a traditional wide-man.
Back at Barcelona in 2017, Suarez has been used in a wing-back and central midfield role by Ernesto Valverde.
It will be interesting to see where Emery sees him operating in.
