Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol baulked at the latest odds on who’ll win the Premier League with Arsenal ranked higher than his former club.

Despite our participation in the Europa League next season, a competition which has hampered teams’ league forms, the bookies clearly feel we’re better equipped to make a sustained title challenge than the Reds.

In terms of the summer transfer window, both clubs haven’t made huge splashes, deciding to just add one marquee signing to their squads so far.

In arguably our worst season under Arsene Wenger, we only finished a point behind Jurgen Klopp’s men in fifth place, despite them having no European commitments throughout the season.

We definitely have a better chance of winning the league than Liverpool.
