Sam Wallace from The Telegraph believes that the situation at Arsenal hasn’t changed given that the owners at the club are happy with what Arsene Wenger is producing.
The boss has come under severe criticism this week following back-to-back defeats against Watford and Chelsea which has ended our hopes of winning the league for yet another season.
Despite the calls from fans for Wenger to step down, the esteemed journalist believes that the top brass are baffled by the outrage given that Wenger keeps achieving what’s expected of him.
“It comes down to what do the club want, do they want to push on and take the discomfort of change, or are they happy with what they’ve what got?”
“I think, so far, the Kroenke ownership has shown very clearly that they are happy with what they’ve got. I think they are happy with the top four.”
While many take aim at Arsene Wenger, his departure will certainly reveal the true colours of a board which has, for so long, shirked the responsibility of making a decision.
The man who succeeds Wenger will be used to doing things a certain way, and that’s to focus on the training pitch and leave the rest to someone else.
It’s time for the Kroenke regime to stand up or be counted or sell up.
