Sunday Supplement panel leaning towards a Wenger stay…

The Sunday Supplement panel were given the task currently leaving many Arsenal fans scratching their heads: will Arsene Wenger stay or go?

Wenger has always made it clear that he wanted to see how the season panned out before making a decision, with the club maintaining their backing of the Frenchman.

It has always been expected that Wenger would decide his own future, even though some want the board to take ownership of the situation and make the decision for the boss.

The Daily Mail’s Rob Draper feels the boss will leave this summer given that he feels results will determine the outcome and in his mind, we won’t do too well in the various competitions we’re still left in.

However, his colleague are leaning towards the opinion that Wenger will more likely extend his stay, with The Independent’s Miguel Delaney stating that the Frenchman hasn’t got a life outside football.

“I think he’s staying,” he said.

“When it comes right down to it, his life is football. We’re told he watches loads of football from Europe, I don’t think he’ll be able to imagine his life without the day-to-day of Arsenal.”

That’s the fear many have – who tells Wenger when it’s time to stop.

Despite repeatedly claiming that he’ll be honest in his self-assessment before deciding whether or not to stay on, he will always be blinded by the level of ambition he still has left in the tank as opposed to his competence.

It’s difficult to tell yourself that you’re not good enough anymore.
