Sutton coach happy to pay for Wenger’s ban to be lifted…

Sutton assistant manager Micky Stephens spoke of his excitement about last week’s FA Cup draw after the non-league side were drawn against Arsenal in the fifth round.

Sutton and the only non-league side left in the competition alongside Lincoln City, and they are set for a memorable night at home this month.

After demolishing Southampton 5-0 away from home, we’ve been handed a very romantic FA Cup tie which epitomises what this competition is about.

There was only one thing on Stephens’ mind though as he spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live: “Is Arsene Wenger suspended for that, though?” The coach asked.

“I would’ve paid money to see Arsene Wenger on the touchline alongside Paul Doswell.”

Stephens was delighted to learn that Wenger will be fully available for the clash as his ban runs out next week against Hull City in the Premier League.

For us, though, it’s a massive opportunity to make our way to yet another FA Cup quarter-final, which would be our fourth in four years.
