Thierry Henry expected Arsene Wenger extension…

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry claimed that he felt it was inevitable that Arsene Wenger would extend his contract and he called on his former boss to act on his words this week.

Following the announcement of Wenger’s extension, which went against the wishes of many fans, the club made promises of showing ambition to get us back fighting for the Premier League.

Having finished fifth and with no Champions League participation to dangle in front of potential signings, we really have to flex our financial muscle in order to compete next season.

While Henry is happy to see his former boss extend his contract, he’s waiting to for tangible evidence to back up his ambitious claims.

“I said two weeks ago he was going to stay and I wasn’t wrong,” Henry told SkySportsNewsHQ.

“Everyone is waiting for the title; the club, the players, the fans and Arsene himself.

“He might buy one or two players having, as he’s claimed, created a dynamic to win the title finally. But I’ve heard that before, and the year before, and the year before.”

Henry’s sentiments are certainly shared by Arsenal fans worldwide whereby we’re tired of the broken promises.

Wenger, Stan Kroenke and Ivan Gazidis have talked the talk, it’s time to walk the walk.
