“I Would’ve Loved To Have Played With Him” – Thierry Henry Waxes Lyrical On Arsenal Star

Thierry Henry is a fan of Gabriel Jesus…

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry waxed lyrical on Gabriel Jesus following his match-winning display in our 2-1 win at Sevilla to move us to the top of the Champions League group, he said on CBS Sports Golazo.

Jesus laid the ball on for Gabriel Martinelli for our opener following a sensational piece of skill on the halfway line, sending two defenders – including Sergio Ramos – for a hotdog.

Then, just after half-time, the 26-year-old picked up the ball on the left flank after briefly switching positions with his aforementioned compatriot, before cutting inside and launching an effort into the far corner.

Jesus has been getting back to full fitness in recent weeks after missing the opening games of the season due to another knee operation, and fans will be hoping his hamstring injury isn’t too serious.

Henry was certainly impressed with the Brazilian’s efforts and professed that he would’ve loved to have played alongside the former Man City forward.

“I would have loved to have played with him,” Henry explained during his post-match analysis.

“He’s a great guy to have around. If you ask anyone they would say they would have liked to have played with him.

“Is he a guy that’s gonna score you 25-30? I don’t know, I’d like to think so. But the game he scored tonight won the game,” he added.

It really would be a shame if Jesus is set for another spell on the sidelines just as he reaches full fitness, a scenario that would bring his injury record into sharp focus.

Historically, Jesus doesn’t have a history of soft tissue injuries, with all of his major ailments coming from traumatic situations and contact from defenders.

Hopefully he’s back in the near future, especially for the trip to Newcastle United in 10 days time.
