Thierry meets Arsene…
Arsene Wenger sat down with his former skipper Thierry Henry for Sky Sports to reflect on the past 20 years as the boss celebrates his anniversary this weekend.
Wenger took his place in the dugout at Ewood Park against Blackburn Rovers in October 1996, with an Ian Wright brace giving him his first win as Arsenal boss.
Henry will certainly go down as Wenger’s most successful acquisition, with the legendary striker going on to become our record goalscorer.
The Frenchman asked Wenger what his worst moment was during the past two decades and he was firm in his answer: “The Champions League final that we lost.”
“We were 13 minutes away from winning the final.”
It’s the trophy that has eluded Wenger so far and he may well retire without getting his hands on Europe’s premier club competition.
Check out their discussion in the video above.
