Thomas Frank was impressed by Arsenal’s resilience…

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has warned Liverpool that any blip will see Arsenal potentially catch them in the title race after Mikel Arteta’s men secured all three points against his side.

Frank, whose side boasted the best home record in the league alongside the league leaders, got off to the perfect start with a solo effort from Bryan Mbuemo.

That goal came against the run of play with the visitors starting well, pinning The Bees back to the edge of their area and keeping them there.

Gabriel Jesus equalised midway through the first half to continue his prolific run of form, and Arteta’s side blitzed the hosts following the interval with two goals in the space of three minutes.

Frank believes that despite all the obstacles the Gunners have faced, they continue to pick up points while Liverpool are yet to have any adversity.

“It’s a long season,” the Dane said when asked about the title race (via BBC Sport).

“I understand why Arne Slot is saying ‘we haven’t won anything yet’. Liverpool haven’t had a dip yet and that will most likely come, and Arsenal are picking up points when they’re not fully firing.

“It will go right to the end.”

Liverpool’s fixture list has been kind to them in terms of consecutive tough fixtures, especially those away from Anfield. Many claim fixtures don’t matter with every team playing each other twice, but that’s not true.

Should you have a blip in terms of a negative result, it does help to bounce back when you have a relegation candidate at home as opposed to being asked to travel to another top-six side.

It means that while they can drop points, it will be difficult for the Merseyside club to fall into a slump thus requiring us to be near-perfect for the rest of the campaign.
