Tomas Rosicky is behind Arteta…
Former Arsenal playmaker Tomas Rosicky has backed Mikel Arteta to guide the club to its first Premier League title since 2004 and finally topple Manchester City, TNT Sports reports.
Arteta’s men currently trail the champions by three points, though it’s Liverpool who currently lead the league ahead of their trip to the Emirates Stadium.
Rosicky shared a dressing room with Arteta for five years, winning two FA Cups together while also waving goodbye to the Gunners faithful on the same day.
The former Czech star stated that it didn’t take a rocket scientist to foreshadow Arteta’s prominence as a coach and he’s backing his friend to reach the pinnacle.
“Yeah he had it in him for a long time,” Rosicky said ahead of Sparta Prague’s Champions League tie against Man City.
“When we played together he was preparing for his next when he retired, basically he was doing his badges. You could see the leadership qualities he had before and you can see it now on the bench.
“Of course I wish him well and I hope that they can make it.
“I think last season what they showed – Mikel himself and the whole club have what it takes to win it.
Arteta has fallen short on two consecutive occasions and picking up the squad up to go a third time against a Pep Guardiola side that leave you little room for error is tough.
Even Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool never challenged for the Premier League for three consecutive seasons , proving how tough the task is.
A win against the Reds will see us close the gap to just one point ahead of yet another run of tough games.
