Bukayo Saka announced himself in Qatar in England’s opening game…
Arsenal star Bukayo Saka announced himself on the world stage after bagging a brace for England in their opening World Cup game against Iran.
Saka, who some uninformed individuals felt should’ve been an understudy to Phil Foden, marked his first start at a World Cup with a Man of the Match performance.
A sweet volley just inside the box doubled England’s advantage in the first half before Saka’s solo run and finish gave the Three Lions a comfortable advantage.
The 21-year-old was withdrawn shortly after his second goal and wasn’t given the chance to go for the hat-trick. Saka can now rest and prepare for the tougher tests in England’s group the the shape of Wales and the USA.
One thing’s for sure, we can now put the pathetic debate surrounding Saka’s place in the starting XI to bed.
Check out some of the reactions on Twitter to Saka’s display below, including a post by another Hale End star.
Bukayo Saka.
