Arsenal head coach Unai Emery and the club have confirmed the first-team coaching staff which will work around new boss with the start of pre-season just two weeks away.

The arrival of Emery was rubber-stamped last month and much of the focus has been geared towards shaping the team around him and replacing some of the staff who’ve been released.

It was reported last month that along with Arsene Wenger, first-team staff Neil Banfield, Boro Primorac, Gerry Peyton, Tony Colbert were shown the door. Also, long-time physio Colin Lewis was also relieved of his duties.

It meant that the futures of Steve Bould and Jens Lehmann were up in the air, and it’s now been confirmed that the former will remain, while the German has now been let go.

Alongside Bould, Emery brings five members of staff with him from his time at PSG: they are first-team coaches Juan Carlos Carcedo and Pablo Villanueva, while goalkeeping coach Javi Garcia has also followed the former Sevilla coach to north London.

Emery has garnered a reputation for being a coach obsessed with analytics and he’s stayed faithful to that by keeping analyst Victor Manas among his trusted lieutenants.

On the fitness side, while Darren Burgess remains the boss, Emery’s ally Julen Masach from PSG joins up with him yet again.

Also, Sal Bibbo keeps his place from the previous regime as an additional goalkeeping coach.

With the squad due back on the first week of July, the hard work begins now.
