Unai Emery aware of the challenge that awaits…

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery’s mind is already on Saturday’s clash against league-leaders Arsenal, the Spaniard told reporters minutes after conquering champions Manchester City on home turf, The Birmingham Mail reports.

Man City were toppled for the third time this season in the Premier League as Emery’s men continued their impressive home form.

The Villains haven’t lost a league game since we visited Villa Park in February, coming away with a 4-2 thinks to two stoppage-time goals from Jorginho and Gabriel Martinelli.

Mikel Arteta takes his side to The Midlands this weekend looking to repeat that feet and solidify our place at the summit of the Premier League.

Emery told reporters that there was no time to bask in Wednesday night’s win as he prepares for Arsenal’s visit, a team he feels are tactically aware of his side’s weapons.

“We have to keep balance,” the former Villarreal boss was quoted as saying.

“We have to play against Arsenal on Saturday, maybe we can rest for two days and try to enjoy the moment. Now, we have to be focused. I want to do this a step ahead being as a team with the winning mentality and trying to keep balance, but we are now preparing for the match on Saturday.

“We want to try to play here together and we want to prepare for the match professionally and try to be competitive against Arsenal because they know a lot about us,” Emery added.

Given Villa’s home form and position in the table, winning there would certainly send a message to the rest of the league and give the team a huge boost.

Saturday’s trip will represent our toughest in the league so far this season, though the team will be buoyed by last season’s efforts.

Coming off the back of no wins in three matches – including two defeats – we went to Villa Park and produced a stellar display to come from behind on two occasions and clinch the victory.

Same again, please?
