Arsene Wenger on penalty incident…
Arsene Wenger addressed the confusion surrounding our penalty takers after it appeared that Alexis Sanchez dismissed the regular taker Santi Cazorla.
Cazorla has taken two penalties this season and has converted both. It’s fair to assume that the Spaniard should be our regular dispatcher of penalties considering his impressive record.
Despite what transpired, Wenger didn’t seem too bothered by what occurred in his post-match press conference.
“Santi (Cazorla) was head of the list,” Wenger explained.
“Ideally you want as a manager for things to happen in the order you decided, but we don’t live in an ideal world.”
Arsenal fans were certainly more unforgiving than Wenger was in his post-match debrief. One hopes that he’s let Alexis know exactly how he feels behind the scenes.
