Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech gave a glowing report on behalf of his fellow teammate Jack Wilshere and said he can’t foresee a scenario in which he’s left behind by England this summer – should he maintain his fitness.

This has been the season of redemption for Wilshere, with the 26-year-old fighting back to stake a claim in the first XI and produce some stunning displays.

Arsene Wenger has often praised the playmaker’s “burst” and we’ve certainly seen that return in recent weeks, especially during those crucial matches against Chelsea in December.

However, his contractual situation is yet to be cleared up and is also yet to appear for England this season, with manager Gareth Southgate sending him some cold signals.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Cech waxed lyrical on Wilshere and just admires watching him strut his stuff in midfield.

“When you see Jack training and playing, he’s one of the best players and you would always love to have this player in the team,” Cech said.

“No matter what, when Jack Wilshere has the ball, something always happens. He turns the game forward, he has this ability to turn the game forward and create a number of positions and actions.

“A fit Jack Wilshere should be in the England squad.”

Wilshere’s biggest test will undoubtedly arrive in a matter of days as he takes on arguably the best midfield trio on current form in European football.

Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho and David Silva will look to dictate the game for Man City, something we need Wilshere to disrupt if we’re to come out on top on Sunday.
