Arsenal fans react to serious knee injured suffered by Jurrien Timber…
Arsenal fans are devastated on social media following confirmation from the club that Jurrien Timber suffered an ACL injury on his Premier League debut last week and will need to undergo surgery.
Timber injured his knee while sliding into a tackle minutes before half-time and while the referee stood over him as he waited to issue the yellow card, the Dutch international pounded the ground in agony.
However, after being assessed by the medical staff up until the end of the interval, the 22-year-old surprisingly returned to the field of play.
It didn’t take long before he was down again after his right knee buckled as he received the ball and it was clear then that something serious has happened.
Arsenal have since confirmed that Timber will have surgery in the coming days, though stopped short of giving a timeline for a potential return.
Arteta was asked after the game against Forest about the incident and pointed towards the doctor and physio as the experts that green-lit Timber’s return to the field.
“No, the officials, the doctors, they looked at him and they were happy to continue, him as well, but straight away in the second half the first action he made a movement and it was a bit funny so we took him straight out and now we have to assess him to see what he has,” the Spaniard said.

The injury to Timber hit the group pretty hard when they were informed yesterday. Only just arrived but quickly became a popular member of the group with his attitude & good nature.
Big blow to lose him for 6-9 months but he has age on his side & is a tough boy. Will be back. pic.twitter.com/Tl0O8Utl0n
