Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette is hoping to establish a long and fruitful partnership with Alexis Sanchez after stating that he’s one of the main reasons he decided to join us.
Alexis was played in a centre-forward position for much of last season and excelled in that role, as he became the first Arsenal player to score 30 goals in all competitions since Robin Van Persie’s departure.
However, Arsene Wenger often stated that the Chilean preferred a wide role which meant that a striker was high on the shopping list last summer.
That led to the £52million arrival of the Frenchman who’s netted four goals in seven Premier League appearances.
Despite the contractual situation casting a shadow over Alexis’ future, Lacazette is hoping for a sustained partnership with the former Barcelona man.
“That’s also one of the reasons why I wanted to come to Arsenal – to play with players of [Alexis’] calibre,” the 26-year-old told Arsenal Player.
“Just seeing him in training, I like the way he plays and his mental attitude.
“His approach makes me want to play alongside him – hopefully for many years.”
The two forwards showed signed of a burgeoning relationship against Brighton, following on from their impressive display against West Bromwich Albion.
We have a few favourable in which Alexis and Lacazette can certainly strengthen their understanding before facing back-to-back clashes against Manchester City and Spurs in November.
