Arsenal have agreed a deal with adidas for the German giants to become our kit manufacturers once again in what’s being described as the third most lucrative deal in football history, JohnWallStreet reports.

Puma has been our manufacturers since 2014 and it seems their – £150m over five-years – deal which ends at the end of the season will not be renewed.

According to the reports, the kit agreement with adidas doubles our Puma revenue, meaning we’ll receive £60m-per year over five years.

It means this deal is on-par with Chelsea’s recent kit deal with Nike, and only behind Manchester United and Barcelona’s deals with adidas and Nike respectively.

Commercial revenue is crucial to our growth given our self-sustainability model, and it’s usually given directly to the manager to strengthen the squad during the summer.

If you take into account that Fly Emirates have renewed their shirt sponsorship deal with us for a £40m-per year, coupled with our £10m-a-year sleeve sponsorship partnership with Visit Rwanda, Unai Emery could look forward to a healthy transfer budget next summer.

That’s before taking into account TV revenue, matchday revenue and prize money.

Emery was given a restricted budget last summer following back-to-back seasons outside the Champions League and one would expect a return to Europe’s premier club competition would further enhance Emery’s coffers.
