Arsenal legend Lauren believes Aaron Ramsey should look to stay in London and join a club like West Ham as the midfielder prepares to leave the club, the former right-back told Sky Sports.

According to Sky Sports, Ramsey is set to seek pastures new in the summer after more than a decade at the club following a decision from the hierarchy to withdraw their contract offer.

The Welshman was also told in a face-to-face meeting that he can move when his contract expires in June, which has seen him linked with a number of clubs.

Bayern Munich have been heavily linked with the former Cardiff City starlet, and it is understood that the German giants feel they’ve won the race for his signature.

“He wants to play. The club are looking at other ways but as a player, you have to find your own way,” Lauren said.

“If you don’t have the first-team shirt you have to go elsewhere. If I was him I would stay in London because he knows the city.

“Somewhere like West Ham would fit him. It would give him the leadership he needs and he is based in London so I think he has to stay at a London club.”

Ramsey hasn’t really commented publicly on what his intentions are, so making a prediction as to where he’d go would be an uneducated one.

A club of Bayern’s interest should entice any elite player, but one would imagine that playing time isn’t guaranteed given their midfield options.

It will be interesting to see where he goes.
