Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been named in FIFPro’s African team of the year alongside Liverpool duo Mo Salah and Saido Mane.

The three aforementioned Premier League stars were on the shortlist for the main award, though that was predictably claimed by Salah after a sensational year.

Aubameyang has enjoyed a sensational 12 months too despite making a big move in January from Borussia Dortmund to Arsenal.

The 29-year-old has netted over 30 goals in all competitions during the last calendar year and is currently the Premier League’s top scorer.

Aubameyang arrived in England with a reputation for his sensational streak and he’s certainly demonstrated why the club was justified to may a record-fee for him.

Fellow Premier League stars Riyad Mahrez, Naby Keita, Serge Aurier and Eric Bailly all made the XI too.

All of the elite players named in the best XI will be hoping to claim glory in the AFCON 2019 which will take place in Egypt. Cameroon were initially the hosts, but they were stripped of their rights due to a lack of belief in their infrastructure.

Check out the XI in the image below.
